Residential Villa at Matara
The house is located in a congested area in Matara town. It comprises three levels with 5 bed rooms, a pool, a lift and other related facilities. The ground floor (2,224 ft2) comprises a double garage, living, dining, verandah, pantry & rough kitchen, store room, servant’s room, servant’s toilet, driver’s room, powder room and generator room, while the first floor (2,136 ft2) consists of TV lounge, study area, visitor’s bed room with attached bath room, two bed rooms with common bathroom and common verandah. The second floor (1,518 ft2) consists of the master bed room with dressing and attached bathroom, entertainment pavilion, swimming pool and small bed room.

Mihira Home
The project is a renovation where the existing house was totally revamped to create a serene pool villa responding to the existing trees and vegetation. The clients wanted to have a tropical haven which embraces the local climate, flora and fauna, whilst using the property as a 3 bedroom rental villa.

Residence at Kadawatha
The residence is located in the outskirts of the Colombo district, designed for a family of four. The key requirements of the client was to design a space which was timeless , a space to lay back and relax in as well as a safe and interesting environment for their children to grow up in. The house was designed as an escape from the busy monotonous life that the family experiences from their day to day activities. Hence a natural life, an experience of connecting with both oneself and the natural environment.

“388” Olympus

The Misty House

Tropical Townhouse
The site was a 12.5 perch linear plot along a medium density residential lane in suburban Colombo; bounded on either side by multiple storey neighbouring blind walls. Site conditions determined the need for a row house. A design application became necessary to overcome the typical narrow row house typology with dark interiors resulting from the short frontage, long depth and common blind boundaries on either side.

Urban Luxe
Perched on the 25th floor of The Grand, Colombo 07, this luxurious apartment interior is designed as a sanctuary for a family of five-a couple and their three young children. Inspired by their five-year stay in the USA, the clients sought a long-term investment that merges modern sophistication with Sri Lankan heritage. The result is an urban retreat that balances functionality, aesthetics, and familial warmth.

The Green Gaze
Residence is situated in the pleasant surroundings of Moragoda, Gampaha facing to a Paddy Field. This two-story building is spanning 4115 sqft in floor area. Building is consisting with Entrance floor (from road level-considered as First floor), ground floor and a terrace floor. Introducing “The Green Gaze” is a personalized home crafted to resonate with the soulful rhythm of the surrounding thick greenery and panoramic view of the Paddy Field. This residence is tailored for a marine engineer seeking relief from the harshness of the sea. Nestled beside a lush area, the residence is a seamless extension of nature.

Clay & Cement Brick House
A 2 unit cost effective rustic residence was conceived on a 170 square meter plot bordering a 6 meter residential street in Colombo suburb of Nugegoda, Sri Lanka. Exposed clay bricks were used for the ground floor 2 bedroom unit in an experimental capacity while exposed cement bricks were used for the 1st floor 2 bedroom unit. Ground floor was allocated with 2 car parking slots 1 each per unit paved with rough hand cut granite recycled from upcountry tea plantations. 1st Floor unit bedrooms have access to balconies which overlook front & rear gardens while lounge areas of both units are provided with generous glazing with multiple timber framed glazed windows. 1st floor unit is accessed from open to sky external steel staircase, while different types of cement louver grill-works are used for boundary walls in keeping with the rustic textural theme of the project, a breeding ground of various ideas of the architect client used in his previous projects. Two floor slabs use 1″ thick pre cast ferro cement permanent shuttering resting on pre-stressed pre cast concrete beams laid out at 2 feet intervals. Structural skeleton is Steel.

Waraka Udawalawe
A family-friendly boutique villa nestled in the lush tropics of Udawalawe, Sri Lanka where the essence of tranquility meets contemporary comfort, overlooking a beautiful waterway and wrapped by a cluster of Jack trees, draws inspiration from the jack fruit that symbolizes abundance and rejuvenation. The charming boutique villa comprises a semi-open restaurant with an infinity swimming pool, 06 deluxe rooms, 04 family rooms, 02 large suite rooms, and an ayurvedic spa with an entrance building all are crafted with eco-consciousness in mind. Each building features a unique design that blends the hues of nature with elements inspired by the jackfruit, capturing the tropical ambiance of the surrounding environment.

New Children’s Ward Facility at ‘Apeksha’ Hospital
The building’s design not only prioritizes functional efficiency but also focuses on the emotional and psychological well-being of its young patients. It features thoughtfully designed spaces such as play areas, a computer section, and a library, all adorned with vibrant colors and imagery. These elements create a joyful and uplifting environment, allowing children to momentarily escape their illness and find happiness during treatment.

Casa de Silva
This was to become the home for a young family with working parents; both the owners drive to Colombo for work from their home at Malabe; and from the onset they wanted an extent of privacy that would still allow them to enjoy the outdoors. The site offered no direction to open the house out to yet its shape and size lent itself to the idea of a courtyard house.

Barista – Kurunegala
Strategically located near the Dambulla expressway exit, the building’s roof is easily visible from the highway. It features a dark brown tone, complemented by a large Barista logo on top to attract attention. Given the area’s dry climate, the architect proposed integrating green tones indoors and enhancing the exterior with planting to highlight natural greenery in spaces like the car park and smoking area.

Kumudu Villa
Set amidst the lush greenery of Kalutara District, Kumudu Villa redefines suburban living through a sophisticated exploration of architectural purity and functionality. Spanning 427 sq.m on a 24-perch plot, this minimalist yet robust modern home balances intimacy with vibrancy, creating a space cherished by its occupants.

DEMOCRACY or ELITISM?
The Parliament of Sri Lanka designed by the celebrated Architect Geoffrey Bawa is the political and administrative hub of the country. Architecturally it is an attempt to blend modernism with traditional Sri Lankan Architecture. The story behind designing and building the parliament itself is intriguing, with political imperative, contextual challenges, architect’ vision and controversies.
